The Foundation Commits to Raising $100,000 for Youth & Family Services

We are proud to announce that the has committed to raising $100,000 to support two incredible programs led by the San Mateo County Libraries Big Lift Inspiring Summers & Raising A Reader. 

Access to educational resources is more important today than ever before. Our mission is to provide annual funds to support programs and initiatives of the San Mateo County Libraries. Supporting programs for all ages and working closely with the Libraries staff to identify where these funds are needed most is at our core. 

The Programs

This year the Foundation is launching a year long campaign to support youth and families services. In addition to the Big Lift Inspiring Summers & the Raising a Reader, donations will help to support youth programs in the summer and throughout the school year. This will help offset the Covid learning loss that many children have suffered through over this past year.  

• Big Lift Inspiring Summers strives to serve over 1,200 youth. Camps will be hosted in 13 sites through seven school districts in 2021. It is also expanding to a 5-week program this summer.
• Raising A Reader’s family engagement program strengthens family literacy and connections to libraries. Over 3,000 children and their families will participate this year.
